At the heart of the UNTHA shredders is their innovative technology – focussing on performance, reliability, user-friendliness and energy efficiency. UNTHA has over 45 years of experience in the field of industrial shredding solutions and is always keen to develop these further. In order to expand its innovation leadership in the shredding technology market and achieve its growth targets for the coming years, the Salzburg-based company has strengthened its management team.

Passion for innovation and technology

Stefan Scheiflinger-Ehrenwerth has extensive knowledge of the recycling industry, as well as technical expertise and experience in the areas of innovation, product management and digitalisation. Having worked across a number of international markets, his most recent position was Head of Product Management and Application Engineering in a company, where he spent eight years.

In his new role as CIO at UNTHA, he is responsible for the departments of research, product development and management, as well as construction. His roadmap focus will therefore include not only the shredders themselves, but also the company's digital products, such as the GENIUS assistance system, the MyUNTHA customer portal and control technology.

“With Stefan Scheiflinger-Ehrenwerth, we now have a CIO who has known our industry for many years and also has extensive technical expertise. With his innovative spirit and experience, he will make a significant contribution to the further development of our shredders and therefore the entire company. We are delighted to have him on our team,” says Alois Kitzberger, CEO of UNTHA shredding technology.

Stefan Scheiflinger-Ehrenwerth – who will represent UNTHA for the first time at IFAT 2024 in May – added: “What sets me apart is my passion for innovation and my endeavour to continuously improve things – even if they are already very good – in order to develop even more efficient shredding solutions. In my role as CIO of UNTHA shredding technology, I always want to put our customers at the centre of everything we do, in line with our company philosophy. Our shredding solutions should support them in their daily work, simplify it and contribute to more recycling and sustainability.”

“I am an advocate of the “open innovation concept”: if we involve different customers and their experiences at an early stage, we can develop even better machines and smarter products. After all, an innovation or new development only becomes a successful product on the market if it is accepted by customers.”

Pioneering spirit and maximum reliability

More than 15,000 UNTHA shredders are in operation worldwide to process a wide range of waste and materials, for reuse, recycling, and energy recovery.

UNTHA is a pioneer in the field of 4-shaft shredders. However, it also has an impressive product portfolio in the area of particularly powerful 1- and 2-shaft shredders and, with the UNTHA Eco Power Drive, currently offers probably the most innovative and energy-efficient drive on the shredding market. Many years of experience coupled with the continuous further development of products and services is a key factor in the company's success. In May 2024, UNTHA will be presenting the advanced generation of its already internationally renowned 4-shaft shredders – the RS class. These shredders are particularly suitable for processing challenging materials such as metals, electronic waste, hard drives, production waste, composites, batteries and household appliances.

IFAT 2024: Premiere of the new UNTHA 4-shaft shredder

At IFAT 2024 – the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management – UNTHA will be presenting the new generation of its 4-shaft shredders along with many other highlights. CIO Stefan Scheiflinger-Ehrenwerth will be on site with the UNTHA team to accompany the premiere of the new RS class.
